Research Foundation for Renaissance Math: Connecting Assessment, Teacher-led Instruction, Purposeful Practice, and Actionable Insight
NA (site), NA (city),
Abstract:
Renaissance Math is designed as a supplemental mathematics solution for Kindergarten through Algebra II that combines assessment, readiness-based grouping, teacher-led instruction, targeted and adaptive practice, formative checks, and skill-proficiency insights into one workflow. The solution is intended to complement a district’s core curriculum rather than replace it. Renaissance Math is organized using an instructional cycle of Assess, Group, Instruct, Practice, and Monitor. Across that cycle, the teacher remains the primary decision maker. The solution uses evidence from assessment data to form recommendations for student groupings and learning options, while teachers select, adapt, and sequence activities in response to classroom goals and student performance.
